Tom is second from the right

Frank Burke recently emailed me the professional profile of Tom Fredericks, the Executive Director of the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music in Santa Cruz, California (link):

Tom Fredericks was appointed Executive Director of Cabrillo Music Festival in November 1990 and in 1997 was joined by Ellen Primack as Executive Co-Director. In February 2001 Tom began focusing exclusively on increasing the Festival’s fundraising programs as its new Development Director. Before Cabrillo, Tom was Executive Director of Louisville Ballet managing a 15-member staff and a budget of over $2 million. Tom went to Louisville after completing his M.B.A. at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 1989, rounding out higher-level academic studies that began in 1965 at University of Notre Dame. Between those dates, Tom was involved in the performing arts as a professional ballet dancer for six years in New York, and in Geneva and Basel in Switzerland; as Company Manager for one year with the Zurich Opera Ballet; and as Marketing and Touring Director for the Houston Ballet for ten years. Tom is in his sixteenth season with the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music.

Congratulations, Tom!

Tom and Frank lived in the same section on the third floor of Keenan Hall freshman year; Tom in 302, Frank in 311. The two were off-campus roommates junior and senior years with Fred Fordyce (d. 2006), Don Wilkins (d. 2006), and Bob Keefe (d. 2004), who also lived in Keenan Hall freshman year.
